Classic Peninsula Kitchen Renovation | Leeds| More Kitchens

Published: 24 February 2025

Background

Having previously worked with Passmore’s on a bathroom renovation a couple of years previous, our returning client sought a kitchen refresh to modernise their space.

While the existing kitchen layout worked well in their open-plan home, the units were looking tired, and certain elements—such as awkward storage spaces and glazed cabinets—no longer suited their needs.

Wanting a simple, easy-to-maintain kitchen that felt light and warm while also improving functionality, a key priority was repositioning the oven at a high level for convenience. In addition, the new design had to complement the existing flooring and furnishings, ensuring a seamless update without altering the kitchen’s footprint.

Objective

The goal was to update and refine the kitchen without disrupting the established space. The design needed to introduce classic kitchen finishes that were modern but warm, maximise storage efficiency by eliminating awkward spaces, incorporate a high-level oven for ease of use, and ensure that the colour scheme and materials complemented the existing furnishings.

Kitchen Design

Senior Designer Julie worked closely with the client to ensure a refreshed yet familiar space. As the layout had to remain unchanged, the focus was on enhancing usability and aesthetics through thoughtful material choices and storage solutions.

Solent Kashmir storage units were chosen for their light and neutral tone, bringing warmth and brightness to the space while ensuring a timeless classic feel.

Irini Quartz worktops provided a durable yet elegant surface, offering easy maintenance and a subtle, sophisticated look.

To address the client’s request for improved accessibility, a pull-out corner Le Mans system was installed, replacing difficult-to-reach cupboards and making everyday storage more practical.

A Neff slide and hide oven was positioned at eye level, enhancing usability while maintaining a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.

Curved slim handles were selected to complement the streamlined cabinetry, adding a modern yet understated finishing touch to the classic design. Julie also advised on wall and floor finishes, ensuring a seamless transition between the kitchen and the rest of the open-plan space.

Kitchen Installation

Offering a full design and fit service, Project Manager Rob oversaw the installation, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process while Multi-Skilled Kitchen Fitter Craig carried out the work with precision, carefully fitting the new cabinetry, appliances, and quartz worktops to achieve a high-quality finish.

With minimal structural changes required, attention to detail was key in creating a cohesive and refined look. The pull-out corner storage system made the most of every inch of space, improving functionality without altering the original footprint. In addition, the slide and hide oven was installed at the perfect height, making cooking more convenient while keeping the overall design clean and contemporary.

Outcome

The completed kitchen delivered exactly what the client wanted: a refreshed and refined space that felt both modern and familiar.

The light, warm-toned materials brightened the room, while the carefully chosen storage solutions improved practicality without compromising on style. These subtle yet impactful updates resulted in a kitchen that seamlessly blended with the existing home while offering enhanced usability and a fresh new look.

Customer Review

The client was delighted with the transformation and left a glowing 5-star Trustpilot review, saying:

"I have recently had my kitchen refitted. The standard of work carried out by Craig was absolutely excellent. Nothing was too much trouble, and he was a pleasure to have in my home."
