Problem

A couple in Mirfield had been in their home for over 10 years and had not made changes to the kitchen design.

They were now in a position where they were looking to overhaul the design.

It was an open-plan design with an integrated dining room.

The couple’s main aim was to find a local company who are experts in kitchen design.

Solution

Searching for a local kitchen company in Yorkshire on the internet, Mr and Mrs Cookson visited our concession Mirfield Garden Centre, where we have a kitchen and bathrooms on display.

They wanted to gain extra information on our company and service.

Met by our showroom consultant Dawn, the couple were shown around and saw the different designs we had on display.

The couple expressed they wanted to overhaul the kitchen and look into possibly reconfiguring the kitchen layout.

However, one of the reasons for their visit was that they liked our design expertise and had a few ideas they wanted to discuss with one of our designers.

Dawn noted this and went through the step-by-step process of our full project-managed service, which they were happy with, and continued to be scheduled for a free design appointment.

Our experienced Senior designer Julie visited the couple and was taken around the kitchen examining the existing design, taking measurements, and seeing how much space they had available.

After, the trio then got into a discussion about the kitchen design and what they were looking to achieve.

Mr and Mrs Cookson explained to Julie that their early ideas were around traditional and modern design concepts, that would suit their open-plan kitchen layout.

The couple wanted to go for a bold colour that could match some of the ideas that they had in mind. Mr and Mrs Cookson wanted a warm earthy kitchen design., with new appliances and ceiling spotlights.

Mr and Mrs Cookson were keen for Julie to impart her kitchen knowledge and advice to see what they could have fit for their kitchen design.

Taking in the elements they conveyed to Julie, she suggested opting for a classic kitchen design, this would be the perfect solution for merging traditional and modern kitchen features.

The three of them agreed that green would be the dominant colour in the kitchen, providing the couple with the natural earthy look they craved.

Around colours they discussed how brown and rustic features would feature a wood metallic, industrial feature finishes to match with the green.

To ulilise the space available, Julie recommended a standout piece kitchen island, that would go in the middle of the new design. The couple really liked this, especially Mrs Cookson, she’d be able to use the kitchen and glance into the garden.

The couple liked the kitchen proposal and how it was taking shape. Julie had listened to their ideas and collaborated with her ideas and suggestions to create a new kitchen concept.

They were happy to move on to the next step which Julie invited them to the Leeds kitchen showroom and handed them a provisional quote for the works.

At the appointment, Julie presented the couple with CAD visuals showing the reconfigured kitchen design, the Eco-Solent reed green shaker-styled design, and some of the new features they’d talked about.

After the presentation, the couple and Julie had a few more kitchen finishing touches and changes that had to be made to complete the design.

The choices that had to be made were handles, flooring, and extra features.

Before their installation, Mr & Mrs Cookson were given a provisional fitting date and visited by our Kitchens Project Manager Rob, who checked the design and choices made could appropriately fit in the space.

As well as being the fitter and the couple’s first point of contact, Rob would make regular visits throughout the installation process to ensure that the project ran smoothly.

Classic Kitchen Refurbishment

Our multi-skilled fitter Craig ripped out the kitchen design in Mr. and Mrs. Cookson’s home.

The new kitchen design was fitted with timeless traditional styled shaker-styled eco-solent green cabinets. The trendy green doors were complemented with elegant antique copper handles, adding to the classy kitchen style.

Two ladder units were built and fit by providing Mr & Mrs Cookson with extra storage. Next to the tall cabinets, an integrated oven was fit at eye level giving the couple easy accessibility and avoiding the need to stoop, improving their overall kitchen experience.

In the middle of the kitchen, Craig built a small dominant kitchen island matching the rest of the eco-green cabinet design around the kitchen.

The island included an induction hob appliance, creating a sleek modern central hub where the couple could cook and have guests sit around on the stool, but more importantly, this gave them an easy view into the garden.

Above the kitchen island, low-hanging pendant lighting was installed. This would enhance the focus on the kitchen island truly giving it the attention it deserves.

Across the surfaces of the green cabinets, oak wood worktops were fit matching the antique brass copper look, this gave the kitchen a completely sophisticated earthy look and relaxed feel to the room.

Completing the kitchen design the entire floor was fit with Camaro white metalstone flooring from birch.

Our team delivered on our full design and fit service promise, by completely refurbishing Mr and Mrs Cookson’s kitchen and fitting a trendy eco solent green kitchen which they were absolutely delighted with.
