Problem

Mrs. Jennings’s existing kitchen was traditionally styled and dated, it had not been refurbished for years. Her kitchen consisted of free-standing appliances and brown cabinet kitchen units with a white worktop finish. The kitchen space had become unsuitable, there was hardly any storage in the allocated space.

Mrs. Jennings was made aware of More Kitchens having browsed the web to see which company could project manage, design, and install a new kitchen. She made a trip to our Mirfield Kitchen Showroom where we have a range of kitchen displays and designs. Mrs. Jennings’s wanted to gather ideas, information, and advice for her new kitchen. Mrs. Jennings had a few ideas of the type of Kitchen design she wanted which were to have a kitchen design with a shaker-style door and look at the Solent kitchen design that’s on display at our concession Garden centre, Whitley’s in Mirfield.

After receiving more information from Our experienced Showroom Assistant Dawn. Mrs. Jennings was confident that we could take her through the process of delivering her kitchen from the design and installation service we offer. She went on to book a free design appointment. A senior designer would go out to her home and take her through the initial stages of the process for a new kitchen. The appointment would involve discussing kitchen ideas, surveying, and designing the kitchen.

Experienced Senior Designer Julie visited Mrs. Jennings and sat with her to discuss in detail, kitchen designs, requirements, and any concerns she might have. Mrs. Jennings’s wanted the new kitchen design to be in line with the style of the house, given her idea of having a shaker-style door, which is associated with a traditionally styled kitchen design. She also mentioned that she would like to have as much kitchen storage as possible and lots of work spaces as part of the new kitchen. Mrs. Jennings mentioned to Julie that she would like to retain her current electrical appliances, and just have a new extractor installed.

Julie took all the ideas, and requirements into consideration while producing a detailed sketch of the new kitchen design she wanted to present to Mrs. Jennings. The new kitchen design was a Classic Kitchen fit with contemporary and traditional design features and fixtures.

The new kitchen design sketch consisted of a Solent streamlined grey mist kitchen, with plenty of kitchen worktop space and storage unit space as Mrs. Jennings requested.

Mrs. Jennings was happy with the process so far and the new kitchen design that Julie presented to her. She was happy to carry on with the process of More Kitchens delivering and installing her new kitchen. Julie provided her with a provisional quote of job work to be carried out and invited her back to the Mirfield Kitchen Showroom where she would present her with CAD images and finalise the kitchen features and finishing touches.

At the Mirfield presentation, Mrs. Jennings was presented with a variety of detailed CAD images of her new kitchen design, which would help her envision how her new kitchen would look from different angles. Julie then helped Mrs. Jennings with choosing any kitchen features that had not been decided upon yet. After this was decided, Mrs. Jennings’s proceeded to place an order with us.

Classic Kitchen Installation

A Classic Solent streamlined grey mist kitchen was installed by our multi-skilled fitter Martin. The elegant soft tone kitchen design contained traditional and contemporary features keeping to the design of the house.

The old kitchen was completely ripped out and re plastered including the ceiling, brand new kitchen lights and electrics were installed in the new design. The electrical appliances she wanted to keep were installed in the new kitchen she kept her oven and fit in the new kitchen and had a glass splashback fit to protect and maintain the wall upkeep.

The new kitchen design units were a clean grey shaker style door as requested, and grey laminate surface kitchen worktops and grey vinyl click flooring were fit to keep the grey colour scheme consistent throughout the kitchen design.

With Mrs. Jennings keeping her oven, it fit in the new kitchen and had a glass splashback fit to protect and maintain the wall upkeep.

In the kitchen there was a step leading up to a storage room, that was refurbished as part of the new kitchen design, and plenty of shelving was fit for additional storage as Mrs. Jennings had requested.

Outcome

A dated traditional kitchen was transformed and refurbished into a beautiful timeless Grey Mist Classic Solent streamlined kitchen, fit with contemporary and traditional features.
