Classic U Shaped Kitchen Case Study | Scarborough | More Kitchens

Mr & Mrs. Peet’s existing kitchen and utility was tired and in need of a complete refit having been in situ since the house was built in the early 90s. With two specific requirements, the couple wanted to explore how they could redesign the existing space to make daily life easier while looking into the option of potentially combing the two separate rooms into one large kitchen space.
Having been referred by their daughter, who had similar works done by More Kitchens 18 months previous, Mr & Mrs Peet booked a free design appointment online for a senior designer to visit their home and discuss their requirements and kitchen design options in more detail. Visited by Senior Designer Andy, the triad discussed all the requirements, wants, and needs for the kitchen space with Andy offering expert help, advise design ideas, and inspiration.
One of the requirements they wanted was to have the kitchen design easier to use, to make life easier for them. They also looked into potential design layout options for the most economical way of making the best use of the adjoined kitchen and utility room and create a large seamless, mirrored kitchen design throughout.
Guided by Andy, they went through a variety of kitchen designs and design preferences, which was to put the kitchen cabinet units in the utility room the same as the units in the kitchen. Which would integrate both rooms together. He also considered the fact that they wanted a kitchen that was easier to use. As part of the design, he added integrated appliances which included an eye-level oven and microwave.
Delighted with the process so far Mr & Mr’s Peet were happy to proceed to the next stage, which involved a visit to our Harrogate Kitchen Showroom whereby Andy would present them with CAD images, a detailed quote for the works and help them chose any kitchen finishing touches. With everything finalised, and a result of a seamless experience, Mr & Mrs Peet were delighted to place an order with us.
The classic kitchen was installed by Multi-Skilled Fitter, Jason, and offered a stunning balanced combination of contemporary and traditional features.
During the installation of the kitchen, and as the design concept neared realised completion, tweaks were suggested by both Jason and Project Manager, Rob, which further enhanced the overall look, feel and functionality of the kitchen design.
A consistent feature throughout the kitchen and utility was the incorporation of cream traditional shaker-style kitchen cabinets against contrasting black glossy kitchen worktops, which elevated the design, making the kitchen both elegant and eye-catching.
Brown laminate kitchen flooring was laid out throughout the kitchen and utility which helped combined the two spaces, resulting in a classic kitchen design with modern fixtures and fittings
Customer Comment:
After seeing our daughter’s kitchen which was designed and fitted by Passmore’s, we were impressed enough to visit their Harrogate showroom and we’re impressed by the variety of styles available. On Andy’s planning visit he came up with excellent ideas on how to create a larger kitchen from a smaller kitchen and utility room. On his site visit Rob suggested tweaks to improve the look of the planned kitchen even more and pointed out things we hadn’t even considered. The fitter, plasterer and electrician all arrived as planned and all worked to a very high standard. Special mention must be given to Jay for his attention to detail and commitment to making sure we got the kitchen we wanted. He kept us informed throughout, overcame unexpected difficulties with plumbing which were not of his making and left the site spotless at the end of each working day. He was extremely hard working, took obvious pride in his work and was a very personable young man. We would be very happy to recommend Passmore’s for carrying out a kitchen refurbishment and have now booked them in to do a similar project for our downstairs cloakroom.
